While Canada does not figure prominently in the manufacture of automobiles in the country has artists who are excited about the subject matter of the car. One of them is Paul Chenard. Gordon Drysdale is one of Canada dedicated to the automotive art. Gordon was born in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, and his artistic talent and love of cars was evident in early childhood. In 1988, Gordon decided to devote their energies full time to art. He first worked in oils, then changed to acrylics. He has also worked in other media such as watercolor, Count and pen and ink. Gordon's style is realistic that strives to capture the nostalgic appeal and historic automobiles. Many of his paintings depict scenes of cars from time to time. His works have been purchased by corporate customers and two of his paintings are displayed in the permanent collection of the Province of Ontario. In 1999 Gordon won the first national art competition sponsored by automobile Automobile Journalists Association of Canada. Then in 2000 he won the national national third and second in 2002.
Chris Phillips is another artist award winning Canadian automotive. He was actually born in England but his parents moved to Canada when Chris was a teenager and still lives there. Chris worked for an advertising agency, but when the agency closed, he accepted a job at a service station. Later, he decided to return to school and get a degree. After graduating with a BA and MA in history, was hired by Community Colleges as an instructor and later as an administrator. After ten years, decided to launch a career of time. Chris is dedicated exclusively to the old paint, classic sports car racing, Formula 1 and Indy cars. He received an Award of Merit in the 1996-97 Art Competition sponsored by car Journalists Association of the Automotive Industry Canada.
